    1. I agree! Since Mrs. Lettieri embraced the character so much, I was really able to picture and understand what the character was saying, feeling and doing.

  2. I think Summer is a good person because when everybody else talks about him behind his back, Summer is being nice to August and she's also August's only friend. For example, when they had to do the Egyptian Project,Summer asked August if he wanted to come over to her house so they can both work on there Egyptian Projects together.

  3. I really enjoyed reading this part of the book! Summer is such a true friend to Augie and a role model for the rest of us. Don't you agree that we all need to be more like Summer?

  4. When Summer went to Savannah's house she could have been in the popular group and made fun of August but she was still a true friend by not doing that. Yes Ms. Lettieri I agree that we should be more like Summer because everybody needs a good friend.

    1. I wonder why those kids are even considered the "popular" group. If that's what the "popular" group is like then count me out!

    2. I would not want to be in that popular group either. They aren't being very nice.

  6. I felt very bad for Summer when she was at the party. For instance, everyone was making fun of her for hanging out with August all the time and they were always calling him names. Another example is everyone at the party was in the "popular group" and she didn't have a lot of friends to hang out with. All she could hear was people making fun of August. Also when I was reading this I wondered, how mean some people can be. It was terrible how Savannah and Henry talked about August. If I was August's good friend like Summer, I would feel so angry.
