I pledge to be kind to anyone that I meet and not be mean to them for the way that they act or look. I will really miss this book, but I really loved the way the book ended because at the end it was much different then the beginning and everyone loved August!!!
Me too! Agreed on that Samantha! There are so many other great books out now in this same genre. I just finished One of the Murphys about a girl who is in a foster home. I loved it just as much. And One of a Kind was wonderful too.
I can't believe that the book Wonder is already over it feels like the book just started. Also, I think that August really deserved to have the High Honor Roll award and the Henry Ward Beecher award because he has been through some really tough times such as when he first started Beecher Prep, when he was at the 3 days and 2 nights trip and last but not least all of his painful surgeries.
What a wonderful ending! I was so touched by Mr. Tushman's speech! His words were so powereful on the stage that I got chills when he was speaking. "How can you measure how you have grown?" "Who have you touched this year? That is the greatest measure of success." "Let's all try to be a little kinder than is necessary! One should be kinder than is needed. So, if you think you are kind, then everyone try a little harder to go out of your way to be a little kinder!" WOW! "COURAGE! KINDNESS AND FRIENDSHIP! How do we recognize greatness?" AUGGIE GOT THE THUNDER HE DESERVED! I loved this book and can't wait to see the movie!
Wouldn't it be great to have a standing ovation day in class? Everyone needs to feel special at least once in their life! Such a great feeling, words can't even explain it.
I loved the book! It was so good. I really liked Auggie's character and Jack Will's character too. It really shows how important it is to be kind to other people. It was such a cool idea to have the teachers read the book so everyone in the whole school could read the book, even my brother who is in kindergarten. Thank you for taking the time to read the book to us.
I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I wish they had this when I was younger. It was so motivating and fun to see (and hear) the different teachers reading the book. I'm so happy and so thankful the teachers did this!
I pledge to be kind. I love that everyone at Village was kind to me as I started school as the new kid this year.
ReplyDeleteI pledge to always be kind too!
